Alex Schoback
NURSE PRACTICTIONER

Alexandra “Alex” Schoback, MSN, CPNP, RNFA is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Pediatric Orthopedic Department at the Hospital for Special Surgery, where she works closely with Dr. Fabricant both in the office and the operating room. In the OR, Alex assists in surgeries and ensures families feel informed and confident by providing preoperative and postoperative education.

With a passion for pediatric sports medicine and trauma care, Alex brings firsthand experience as a former collegiate rower at the University of Pennsylvania and a soccer goalkeeper at Phillips Academy. Her athletic background fuels her commitment to helping young athletes get back to the activities they love.

Chelsea Johnson
OFFICE MANAGER

Chelsea, a native New Yorker, is Dr. Fabricant's dedicated Office Manager. Her journey into healthcare began during her time at the College of New Rochelle, sparking a career that has flourished since 2012.

Throughout her career, Chelsea has cultivated expertise in areas such as administration, team coordination, office organization, and patient experience. She is committed to ensuring smooth office operations and positive patient interactions.

Outside of the office, Chelsea embraces the vibrant lifestyle Manhattan offers, enjoying travel and quality time with family and friends. At home, she cherishes moments with her fiancé, son, and their beagle, Merci. Chelsea is a firm believer in the importance of a healthy work-life balance.

Jazzlyn Martinez
PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Jazzlyn Martinez is a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator with more than 10 years of experience in healthcare administration and patient support services. Known for a patient-first approach and exceptional organizational skills, Jazzlyn plays a key role in bridging the gap between patients, providers, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless, personalized care.

Outside of work, Jazzy deeply values quality time with her son and father, which helps her stay grounded and balanced. Spending time with loved ones reminds her of the importance of compassion, patience, and support—values she brings into every patient interaction.

Shannon Drevitch
ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

Shannon was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania. She attended King’s College, where she earned two Bachelor of Science degrees, and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration degree. After graduate school, Shannon completed an Administrative Fellowship where she became versed in Hospital Operations. During her education, fellowship, and internship experiences, Shannon developed a passion for health equity, especially in women’s health and pediatrics.

In her spare time, Shannon enjoys spending time with family and friends (including her puppy, Mocha), watching and attending Milwaukee Brewers games, trying new restaurants, and relaxing on the beach.

Katie Groff
RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Katie grew up in North Carolina, raised in Raleigh with her three brothers, and later moved to Durham to attend Duke University, where she earned a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry. She was a member of Duke’s Varsity Women’s Soccer team for five seasons.

Her experiences as a collegiate athlete strengthened her interest in orthopedics and sports medicine, and she is excited to contribute to research in this field. Since graduating, she enjoys staying active through running and yoga, as well as traveling, spending time with friends and family, and fostering puppies in her free time. She is excited to join the group this year to gain orthopedic surgery research experience before applying to medical school.

Sam Beber
RESEARCH FELLOW

Samuel Beber completed his BSc at Queen’s University and MSc at the University of Toronto in Canada before beginning as a medical student at New York Medical College. He is currently completing his research year as a Leon Root Research Fellow at the Hospital for Special Surgery where he is focusing on exploring pediatric orthopaedic clinical outcomes and growth-related injuries in young patients. He is excited to be applying to orthopaedic surgery residency programs in the upcoming 2026–2027 cycle.
